This Argentium Silver heavy-wall tubing is suitable for creating tube settings for round gemstones.  Use a burr to cut a seat in the end of the tube. This size tube fits a 3mm stone.

The manufacturer also suggests using tubing to make hinges. The smaller sizes would be suitable for trinket boxes, lockets and bracelets.
