Metals for jewellery making -
    .999 Fine Silver - soft, malleable, ideal for making bezels.
    14/20 Gold Filled  - most wires are half-hard for making quality gold colour wire-wrapped jewellery. With new solders and fluxes that have become available, these items can be soldered.
    Argentium Silver - 94% silver.
       Dead-Soft for making silver jewellery, easier to solder than Sterling, highly resistant to firescale and tarnish. 
       Half-Hard for making quality silver wire-wrapped jewellery. Very tarnish resistant. Can be heat hardened.
    Sterling Silver - 92.5% silver
       Dead-Soft for repairing 925 silver jewellery.
       Half-Hard for wire wrapping - replaced by Argentium Half-Hard. Use the same tools, same techniques, the end result is a superior, very tarnish resistant item.
